Description
Gabbeh rugs are knotted in Iran and India. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to simple, rustic rugs. Since the 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh carpets are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric and animal motifs. The patterns are often abstract or figurative, depicting animals or people. They are typically made of wool on wool and fit into any room in the house.
