Gabbeh, the Farsi word for "raw," describes rustic rugs. Popular since the 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs have thick pile, diverse colours, and bold geometric patterns. The designs can be abstract or representational, often featuring animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also versions made of cotton or other materials. From small mats to large carpets, they fit into any room.
