Description
This magnificent rug is a Persian Lori baff and is one of the finest Gabbeh rugs. It is knotted by nomads or semi-nomads in Iran using traditional craft techniques. The minimalist motifs and patterns often reflect the nomads’ surroundings, with depictions of camels, trees or shrubs. The carpets are made of fine wool from locally kept sheep flocks and are often spun by hand. This gives each carpet a unique character and embodies the centuries-old culture of the region. Each Lori baff carpet is therefore not only a functional but also a cultural work of art that keeps the tradition and heritage of Persian carpet art alive.
