Description
Khorjin carpets are made from hand-spun sheep’s wool of the highest quality, mainly in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The wool is traditionally spun by hand before the knotting process begins. This method of production ensures the rug’s robustness and durability, as wool has natural dirt-repellent and heat-insulating properties. It is also exceptionally soft and gives the rug a natural sheen. The weavers’ skilful craftsmanship is reflected in the fineness and detail of the patterns and designs, which often incorporate local cultural and traditional motifs. The Khorjin carpet is a symbol of craftsmanship and aesthetic beauty, as well as a tribute to the centuries-old tradition of carpet making in this region.
