Gabbeh means "raw" in Farsi and refers to rustic rugs that have been popular since the 1990s as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They have thick pile, diverse colours and bold patterns, often with abstract or representational motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they are also available in cotton or other materials, in sizes ranging from mats to large carpets for any room design.
