Description
This carpet belongs to the village and nomadic carpets from Iran and is hand-knotted in smaller towns and villages according to old traditions. Nomads also still knot Shiraz and Ghashghai carpets outdoors, working directly from memory without a template. The carpets are characterised by their linear and geometric patterns. Their cultural and traditional origins give them a unique character that reflects ancient Persia. These carpets are not only artistic handicrafts, but also living testimonies to the Iranian carpet tradition and history.
