Description
Loom Lori carpets from India are particularly well known for their Gabbeh variants, named after the Farsi word for “raw”, which describes their simple, rustic beauty. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets, which often appear more formal. Gabbeh carpets are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and striking geometric designs, which are often abstract or figurative and depict animals or people. They are mainly made of wool, occasionally also of cotton or other materials. Available in various sizes from small mats to large rugs, their sturdy construction and artistic appeal make them suitable for any room in the home.
