Description
Loom Lori carpets from India are particularly well known for their Gabbeh variants, which are characterised by a rustic, raw aesthetic – the word “Gabbeh” comes from Farsi and means “raw”. Since the early 1990s, these rugs have enjoyed growing popularity as a relaxed alternative to formal Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs delight with their thick, luxurious pile and are characterised by a wide range of colours and striking geometric patterns, which are often abstract or figurative and depict animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they are occasionally also made of cotton or other materials. Available in various sizes from small mats to large carpets, their robust construction and artistic design allow them to blend harmoniously into any living environment.
