Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, include the popular Gabbeh carpets, whose name means "raw" in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have gained popularity as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns, whether abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variations in cotton or other materials. They range in size from small mats to large rugs that fit in any room of the house.
