Description
Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, include the popular Gabbeh carpets, whose name means “raw” in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed increasing popularity as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns, either abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, some are also made of cotton or other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large rugs and they fit into any room in the house. These rugs embody craftsmanship and offer a charming addition to modern or traditional interior styles, reflecting a rugged beauty and cultural depth. Gabbeh rugs are not only artistic floor coverings, but also an expression of a rich craft tradition that has existed for centuries.
