Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, include "Gabbeh" carpets, named after the Persian word for "raw". Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets, which are often associated with classic interior design. Gabbeh rugs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, a wide variety of colours and bold geometric patterns that can depict both abstract and figurative motifs such as animals or people. Usually made of wool, occasionally cotton or other materials, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the home.
