Hand-woven Lori rugs from India, known as "Gabbeh", are rustic masterpieces whose name means "raw" in Farsi. They have gained popularity since the early 1990s as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs impress with their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns. These patterns can be abstract or figurative, often featuring depictions of animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. Sizes range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
