Loom Lori carpets, also known as Gabbeh, are hand-woven in India on wide looms. The term "Gabbeh" means "raw" in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic carpet. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets in interior design. Gabbeh rugs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold, geometric patterns that can be abstract or representational, often featuring motifs of animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large rugs and is suitable for any room in the house.
