Description
Pakistani carpet production is mainly concentrated around the cities of Lahore and Karachi. Many carpet weavers fled to Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War and had a decisive influence on the craft there. Hand-knotted Pakistani Bukhara carpets are particularly well known, similar to Afghan Oriental carpets with dark colours and dominant red tones. A characteristic feature is the octagonal repeating pattern, which has cultural and aesthetic significance. These carpets harmonise perfectly with current trends and preferences in interior design thanks to their timeless beauty and high-quality craftsmanship.
