Description
Most of Pakistan’s carpet production takes place in and around the cities of Lahore and Karachi. Many of the carpet weavers of that time fled to Pakistan during the war with India and settled there. Today, hand-knotted Pakistani Bukhara carpets are particularly well known. Similar to Afghan Oriental carpets, Pakistani carpets are also dark in colour and usually feature shades of red. The familiar repeating octagonal pattern can also be found on Pakistani carpets. These carpets can be combined particularly well with current trends and preferences in interior design.
