Description
Kilim rugs differ from hand-knotted rugs in their weaving technique: they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This manufacturing method is less complex, which makes them more affordable. Kilims are lighter than conventional rugs and can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also widely produced in Afghanistan. They are characterised by their simple, linear patterns, which are created by the weaving technique. Kilim rugs are known for their craftsmanship and practical versatility.
