Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand, resulting in a flatter, rougher pile. This characteristic makes them more affordable than their knotted counterparts. Their lightweight nature allows them to be used with either the front or back facing up. Originally from Persia, kilims are now mainly produced in Afghanistan. Their simple, linear patterns are the result of their weaving technique.
