Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile, which makes them flatter and rougher and reduces production costs. They are lighter and can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. Kelim rugs are characterised by their simple, linear patterns, which are created using a special weaving technique. This makes them popular pieces for modern and traditional interiors that value craftsmanship and aesthetic simplicity.
