Description
Unlike hand-knotted carpets, kilim carpets are woven by hand, which means they do not have a high wool pile and are often flatter and rougher. This significantly reduces production costs. Their lightness allows them to be used flexibly on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. They are characterised by their simple, linear patterns, which are created by the special weaving technique. These kilims are not only a cultural heritage, but also a practical and aesthetic element of interior design that combines tradition and functionality.
