Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand and do not have a raised wool pile. They are often flatter and rougher, which reduces their production costs. Due to their lightness, they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. They are characterised by their simple, linear patterns, which are created by the weaving technique.
