Description
Kilim rugs are woven by hand, unlike hand-knotted rugs without high wool pile, which makes them flatter and rougher. Their production is less complex and therefore less expensive. Another advantage is their lower weight and the fact that they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. Their simple, linear patterns are typical of their special weaving technique.
