Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted varieties as they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile. This makes them flatter and rougher, which reduces their production costs. These characteristics make them lighter and allow them to be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. Their simple, linear patterns are characteristic of their special weaving technique.
