Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This simpler design makes them more affordable. Another advantage is their lower weight and the fact that they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also frequently produced in India. Their patterns are typically simple and straightforward, which is due to the weaving technique.
