Description
Kilim rugs differ from hand-knotted rugs in that they are hand-woven and do not have a high wool pile, which makes them flatter and rougher. This results in lower production costs. They are lighter and more versatile as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, kilims are now also produced in India. Their patterns are simple and straightforward due to the special weaving technique.
