Description
Kilim rugs differ fundamentally from hand-knotted varieties in that they are woven by hand. Without a thick wool pile, they are flatter and rougher, which makes them more affordable. These rugs are also lighter and more versatile, as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also manufactured in India. They are characterised by simple, linear patterns created by a special weaving technique.
