Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile. This makes them flatter and rougher, often less expensive and lighter. They are versatile as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also manufactured in India. Their simple, linear patterns are the result of a special weaving technique.
