Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted varieties as they are hand-woven without a high wool pile. This makes them flatter, rougher and less expensive. Their production requires less effort and makes them lighter. Kilims can be used on both sides and originate from Persia, but are now also made in Afghanistan. They typically feature simple, linear patterns created by their weaving technique.
