Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand and do not have a high wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This simple production method makes them more affordable. One advantage is their lightness and the fact that they can be used on both sides, which minimises washing problems for around ten years. Originally from Persia, they are also produced in India and are characterised by simple, linear patterns created by their special weaving technique.
