Description
Kilim rugs differ from hand-knotted rugs in that they are hand-woven without a high wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This simpler construction makes them more affordable. They are also lighter and can be used on both sides, which makes them easier to care for and minimises washing problems. Originally from Persia, they are also produced in India and are characterised by simple, linear patterns created by their special weaving technique.
