Description
Gabbeh carpets are hand-knotted works of art from Iran and India. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to a simple, rustic carpet style. Since the 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile and feature a variety of colours and cool geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or representational. Usually made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
