Description
Gabbeh carpets, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi. Their simple, rustic style has been popular since the 1990s as a relaxed alternative to formal Persian carpets. With thick, luxurious pile and a variety of colours, they feature cool geometric or animal motifs, abstract or representational. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house. Gabbehs offer a casual elegance, far removed from the formal interior design of traditional Persian rugs.
