Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted works from Iran and India, their name meaning "raw" in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a more relaxed alternative to more formal Persian rugs. These rugs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or figurative.
