Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India. “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic style. Popular since the early 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and cool geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or figurative. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
