Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi. Since the 1990s, they have offered a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which often appear more formal. Gabbehs are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or concrete. Mostly made of wool, they range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house. Their rusticity and versatility make them particularly popular in modern living styles.
