Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India, whose name means “raw” in Farsi, reflecting their simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and cool, geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or representational. They are usually made of wool and vary in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the house.
