Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India. The term “Gabbeh” in Farsi means “raw” and describes a simple, rustic rug style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and feature cool, geometric and animal motifs, either abstract or representational. Usually made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any room in the house.
