Gabbeh carpets are hand-knotted carpets from Iran and India. The name means "raw" in Farsi and describes their simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and feature cool geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or figurative. They are usually made of wool and vary in size from small mats to large carpets, fitting into any room in the house.
