Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, are rustic, simple rugs with thick, luxurious pile. Since the 1990s, they have offered a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi. They are characterised by bright colours and geometric or animal motifs, both abstract and figurative. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
