Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, are known for their rustic charm. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes their simple style. Since the 1990s, they have been gaining popularity as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, a wide range of colours and feature cool geometric and animal motifs, often abstract or representational. Usually made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit perfectly into any room in the house.
