Description
Gabbeh rugs, knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi and embody a simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have grown in popularity as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are associated with formal interior design. They are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool, geometric or animal motifs, often abstract or representational. Usually made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any room in the house.
