Description
Gabbeh rugs, knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi and represent simple, rustic rugs. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as a relaxed, folksy alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick pile, diverse colours, cool geometric and animal motifs, with abstract or representational designs, often featuring animals or people. Usually made of wool on wool, they range in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the house.
