Gabbeh rugs from Iran and India have been popular since the early 1990s. The name means "raw" in Farsi and describes their simple, rustic style. These rugs offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which often have a more formal look. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and cool geometric and animal motifs. Mostly made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the home.
