Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Persian. Since the 1990s, they have offered a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are associated with classic interior design. With thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool geometric or animal motifs, they are very popular. The patterns can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Made of wool on wool, they range in size from small mats to large rugs, ideal for any room in the home. Gabbeh rugs embody rustic beauty and cultural diversity.
