Description
Gabbeh rugs are rustic wool rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India. Their name means “raw” in Persian, which describes their simple, folk art nature. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs have a thick pile, diverse colours and geometric or animal motifs. The designs can be abstract or representational, often featuring depictions of animals or people. They range in size from small mats to large rugs and fit well in any room of the house.
