Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted in Iran and India. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes a simple, rustic rug style. Since the 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a relaxed, folksy alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool geometric or animal motifs. Often abstract or figurative, they frequently depict animals or people. Made from wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
