Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes their simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as a relaxed, folk alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, diverse colour palette and bold geometric or animal motifs. They are often made of wool on wool and vary in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the house. Their patterns, often abstract or figurative, can depict animals or people.
