Description
Gabbeh rugs, known for their simplicity and rusticity, are hand-knotted in Iran and India. The word “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and refers to rugs with a relaxed, folk charm. Since the early 1990s, they have been gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric or animal motifs. Made from wool on wool, they range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the home. Their patterns are often abstract or feature vivid depictions of animals or people.
