Description
Gabbeh rugs from Iran and India are hand-knotted works of art. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and refers to their simple, rustic aesthetic. Since the 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. These rugs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile and a variety of colours, often with bold geometric or animal motifs. They are mainly made of wool and range in size and design from small mats to large area rugs that can be used in various living areas.
