Gabbeh rugs, from the Persian word for "raw", are hand-knotted wool rugs, mainly produced in Iran and India. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as a rustic alternative to traditional Persian rugs. With their thick, luxurious pile and variety of colours, they offer a relaxed ambience. Their patterns often include geometric shapes or animals, either abstract or representational. From small mats to large rugs, they are versatile in any room of the house, characterised by their folkloric aesthetic and quality craftsmanship.
