Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted in Iran and India. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes simple, rustic rugs. Since the 1990s, they have been gaining popularity as a relaxed, more folksy alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They have a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and geometric or animal motifs. Gabbehs can feature abstract or representational patterns with animals or people. Usually made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit well in any room of the house.
