Description
Lori baff carpets are knotted in the Orient and India. The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to a simple, rustic carpet. They have become increasingly popular since the early 1990s as they offer a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to the Persian carpets typically associated with traditional interior design. Gabbeh carpets are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, a wide variety of colours and bold, geometric patterns. The patterns can be either abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Gabbeh rugs are usually made from wool, but some are also made from cotton or other materials. They range in size from small mats to large rugs and can be used in any room of the house.
